Bishop Derick D. Akubia, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, is a man on the move for God. He is a man whose entire life is dedicated to fulfilling the call of God to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every living creature.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Cape Coast and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School.
He is married to Lady Pastor Nana Yaa Dankyi Akubia a co-labourer in the vineyard of God and together they have 3 children, Elsie, Carolyn and Ivan.
He is also a charismatic leader, visionary, provocative thinker, and entrepreneur. He is a banker by practice and a marketer by training who has had an impressive career holding various managerial roles in industries spanning Telecommunications, Banking, Real Estate, Consulting, Food & Beverage and Technology.
His deeper walk with God started in 1993 when he became born again at the Lighthouse Chapel International, Ghana and joined the Ushering Ministry.
As an activist of the University of Cape Coast Campus Ministry of the Lighthouse Chapel, he was very instrumental in the establishment of the new site branch of the church.
In 2001, he joined the Adenta branch of the Lighthouse Chapel and was later asked to go and plant a church in Kitase in the Akwapim Ranges of Ghana in 2002. He pastored this branch for eight years.
In 2010, he was transferred back to Adenta Branch as the Pastor in Charge of church worker groups, a role he held for two years.
He resigned from the Lighthouse Chapel International in January 2012 in obedience to the call of God to serve the body of Christ in other areas.
With divine insight, he founded the Seat of Grace Chapel International, a fast-growing Charismatic/Pentecostal Christian denomination with branch networks.
His Daily Broadcast ‘The Wind Word’, which embodies messages on Redemption, Reconciliation and Restoration to Christ Jesus are a source of inspiration to many across the globe.
